* Self Seed as a whole is conceived as an afterimage, burned-in negatives of recent scenes, characters, words that have emerged thru paintings. Shadow entities... where we see Self Seed as it splits off from High Hell. The underneath of the rock. “Sexless Blue” and “Grave Rub I” are back in one body at the top of the stairs. She exits the kitchen, taller and at ease. The jagged receding silhouette still divides her from the seated woman whose fist is raised, blocking bright afternoon sun. Her eyes are wet and her vision compromised. She is multiplying. The picture cuts in and doubles.
* Strong shadows compete with the blackness of the dirt. They bend toward it. The room tilts. The drawings testify to an arc of self-dom, self-determination, and perhaps self-generation. She is crucified and survives.
* By the window I wanted a dark circle to leach from the white. To give shape to its gesture, the tails-side of the coin... deep and flat. A twisting figure pulling away from a place that held her, however romantically.
Herfume, herfuel, her fire...
